NAMI Presents "New Hope for People with Bipolar Disorder"
On July 14, 7:00-8:30 PM, National Alliance on Mental Illness, Cook County North Suburban, invites the public to hear Bernard Golden, Ph.D., a practicing psychologist for more than 30 years, and Nancy Rosenfeld, a bipolar survivor, discuss their groundbreaking book, New Hope for People with Bipolar Disorder. About NAMI CCNS: Founded in 1991, is a not-for-profit organization of individuals, families, and professionals dedicated to helping individuals overcome mental illness and supporting their families. Fifth Annual Walkathon on May 4 New Trier Northfield Campus
ELH's 2008 Walkathon is set by for Sunday, May 4 at 4:00 at New Trier High School's Northfield Campus, located at 7 Happ Road in Northfield. This fun-filled annual event will feature a short walk, starting in the campus parking lot and winding through the forest preserve. A $20 contribution will include an event t-shirt, refreshments, raffle and music.
Registration will take place at 3:30 pm at New Trier's Northfield Campus parking lot, just prior to the race. All interested students, residents and friends of Erika's Lighthouse are invited to attend.
Tom Neuckranz, co-founder of Erika's Lighthouse says, "This is our fifth Walkathon, and every year we have seen more and more people participate. It's fantastic to see so may people come out and show support for a disease that leaves an individual feeling so alone."

TAFY Readies Township-Wide Youth Needs Assessment
The Township Alliance for Youth (TAFY) organized and funded by many New Trier Township educators, agencies, parks and municipalities, including Erika's Lighthouse, will be conducting a township-wide youth needs assessment online survey in May. This is the first of its kind in more than twenty years. The assessment will provide guidance and measurements for schools, churches, social service organizations, and parents to improve the lives of Township youth. Residents and parents will be randomly selected to complete surveys on line, and school-age children will receive access numbers through their schools. All survey responses will be anonymous and will be analyzed by Loevy Consulting. Results will be posted via web access for residents and organizations.
