TEACHERS

Teachers can be very instrumental in helping the depressed child. Because they regularly interact with the child outside of the home and family situation, teachers are in a favorable position to observe behaviors that parents might miss especially the child's interaction with others and behaviors when alone. The teacher can be first to suspect depression in a child.

WHY INVOLVE THE SCHOOLS?

Schools are in a unique position to know when something is not right with students. Because teachers see students in a norming group that parents often don't see. We feel students need to know about their greatest health risk. Teachers need relief from sometimes disruptive or unresponsive students. Parents need assistance in getting help for their children
