What is Erika's Lighthouse?
We are a nonprofit dedicated to educating and raising awareness about adolescent depression, encouraging good mental health, and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health issues
Out of the darkness, a beacon of hope
Erika's Lighthouse is dedicated to ensuring every child, every school, and every community has access to meaningful depression education and the tools to take action — so no young person faces depression alone.
When Ginny and Tom Neuckranz lost their 14-year-old daughter, Erika, to adolescent depression, they turned her suffering into hope for other families. Erika’s passing became a rallying cry for a community in pain — one that channeled grief into purpose and dedicated itself to ensuring every child, every school, and every community has access to meaningful depression education and the tools to take action. In her name and spirit, we expand our circle of hope into school communities and extend a hand to everyone.
Who makes up our dedicated community?
We come from all walks of life, but we are all walking in the same direction, toward one purpose. Our team of educators, administrators, counselors, psychologists, marketers, and more are united around a single goal: to develop the highest-quality, evidence-informed resources to educate students, families, and educators about depression — reducing stigma, building help-seeking skills, and ensuring no young person feels alone. We are dedicated not only to delivering impactful programs, but to continuously learning and improving — so that every student, educator, and family we reach receives the highest standard of support.
