Erika’s Lighthouse has created a one-stop shop for student fundraising! Erika’s Lighthouse is a nonprofit with the mission to make sure no young person feels alone in their depression. We are dedicated to creating a community of empathy and education. We create upper elementary, middle school, and high school mental health, depression, and suicide awareness programs so educators, families, and teens can create safe spaces to learn about mental health, letting students know they are never alone, and that there is somewhere to turn.
We have multiple official Erika’s Lighthouse Empowerment Clubs as well as partnerships with Kiwanis Key Club and SADD Clubs! We offer resources such as over 60 Awareness into Action Activities, advocacy effort information, mental health and depression education resources, positivity promoting campaigns, and more to our partnership and official clubs and students!
One way we empower our clubs and partnerships is through fundraising opportunities. Students and their clubs come together to facilitate one of our fundraising ideas or come up with their own events and campaigns to raise money for Erika’s Lighthouse and keep our programs free.
Through our Student Fundraising Center site, we offer event assistance and event idea getting started guides as well as a platform for them to use for their event fundraising or registration if needed.
Here are some ideas for fundraising events we’ve either provided guides for or some students have put together in the past:
- Bake Sale
- Talent show
- Raffle
- Car wash
- Beacon of Hope Walk
- Dress down day
- Pennies Wars
- Snowball Dance
Here are some tips for promoting your fundraiser:
- Create a fundraising page for your event through the Student Fundraising Center
- Share your fundraising page on social media either through the fundraising dashboard directly or by copying and pasting the custom fundraising link
- Post around your school or campus with flyers or use your school announcements
- Talk to your teachers and school administrators about promoting your fundraiser.
- Get creative with your fundraising ideas!
The Student Fundraising Center also offers a place to simply make donations if you already hosted a fundraising event and are looking for where to submit those donations.
If your club, Sorority, Fraternity, school, or campus would like to host an event but don’t know where to start, our Fundraising Manager Rachel has a calendar open to make time for a call to help! You can mark time with Rachel on her calendar here or email her at Rachel@erikaslighthouse.org
You can also check out the blog from one of the successful and new fundraising events created by the Wilmot Union High School’s Key Club. They created the Snowball dance and were able to promote positivity during the winter months while raising money for Erika’s Lighthouse.
Your new fundraising event idea could be showcased on our blog next, we can’t wait to see what the students come up with this year!
