Every school can become a Peggy Kubert Model School in Mental Health Excellence by leveraging the full suite of Erika’s Lighthouse programs or identifying other programs and resources that are a fit for their community.
Schools are recognized across a series of programs that demonstrate their commitment to mental health prevention and education programs in schools.
Any school can be recognized – even those that do not use any Erika’s Lighthouse program.
Tier-1 School Mental Health Assessment
Schools can use the Tier-1 School Mental Health Assessment to apply for Peggy Kubert Model School recognition.
This assessment tool will provide schools with custom recommendations and suggestions based on their current programming.

Honorable Mentions
Honorable mentions are schools normalizing mental health conversations in their buildings. Honorable mentions are reserved exclusively for schools using the Erika’s Lighthouse programs and resources.

Who was Peggy?
Peggy was a beacon of hope for thousands of young people.
As the first staff person at Erika’s Lighthouse she set the foundation for every program we offer school communities today.
She was a fierce advocate for mental health literacy, depression education and suicide prevention. She believed every child deserves good mental health and that no child should feel alone in their depression.
Her passion, commitment and brilliance lives on in our work.
