Do you want to share your story and empower others?
Erika’s Lighthouse is on a mission to provide free mental health education to any school, anywhere. Erika’s Lighthouse classroom videos use real teens, not actors, who talk about their life, their depression, how it started, what has helped them, who has helped them, and how they practice good mental health.
Our programs are designed this way for a variety of reasons:
- Be Authentic: By hearing you tell your story, we create programs that are relatable to other young people.
- Promote Engagement: When students see and hear stories that resonate with them, they are more likely to actively participate in mental health programs and discussions.
- Reduce Stigma: Openly discussing mental health helps normalize the topic and creates a safe space for seeking help.
- Foster Empowerment: Involving students in mental health initiatives builds their confidence and leadership skills while making them feel invested in their own well-being.
Do you want to get involved?
We are looking to expand our library of student stories and empower other young people to take charge of their mental health. To do this effectively, we need your help. If you are between the ages of 13-18 and want to share your mental health journey, let us know!
We are dedicated to diversity and representation. We see a particular need for students who identify as:
- LGBTQ+
- Indigenous
- African-American
- Male
- South Asian-American
- Pacific Islander
Below are the steps you need to take:
- Have your parent/guardian complete this form and be prepared to upload it in step 2.
- Using this platform, you can share your mental health experience. You can tell us about your signs & symptoms, who helped you, and how you take care of your mental health. You can answer all three sections or just one.
