Supporting School Communities with Essential Suicide Prevention Training

Erika's Lighthouse is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating young people about mental health, reducing stigma, and preventing suicide. Schools in Nevada can leverage free Erika's Lighthouse resources, including student classroom programs, staff training, and school culture tools, to fulfill state suicide prevention mandates and support mental health instruction under SB204.

State Requirements / Best Practice

Nevada's SB204 requires all schools serving grades 7 through 12 to adopt suicide prevention policies including training for students and staff, crisis response planning, and community outreach. Under this mandate, schools must also incorporate mental health instruction into health education courses and emphasize support for high-risk student groups.
