Empowering School Staff with Essential Youth Suicide Prevention Training

Erika's Lighthouse is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating young people about mental health, reducing stigma, and preventing suicide. Schools in Wyoming can leverage free Erika's Lighthouse resources, including staff training modules and suicide prevention programs, to fulfill state suicide prevention training and education mandates.

State Requirements / Best Practice

Wyoming's Jason Flatt Act requires each teacher and school administrator within the district to receive at least eight hours of suicide prevention education every four school years. Under this mandate, training must be completed using suitable materials reviewed and recommended by the state superintendent.
